Time to relax and rewind with a sound bath ๐Ÿ›€ What is a sound bath?๐Ÿค” Sound baths, or gong baths, are meditative experiences during which people โ€œbatheโ€ in the sound waves and vibrations produced by a variety of different instruments including gongs, drums, Tibetan singing bowls and crystal singing bowls. The sounds work by stimulating your vagus nerve, which helps reduce your stress hormones, by sending a signal to your brain that your body is safe, so your heart rate and breath slows down and helps you to relax. The aim is to guide you into a relaxing meditative state, as your brain waves change from the active state of beta, to alpha and then the meditative and sleep state of theta and then delta. The activity of the mind slows down and relaxes as you move into a calm, tranquil, dream like state. Are there any health benefits? Benefits include improvements in physical tension, stress reduction, slower heart rate, increased energy levels ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚, improved sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’ค and improved focus and mental clarity ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿค”. Some people reported that injuries have improved. What to bring? The session will last around 45 minutes, as your mind and body relaxes, your body temperature will reduce, so if itโ€™s cool, you will need a blanket or sleeping bag, to keep you comfortable. A pillow, or cushion for your head (and lower back/legs- if required), along with an eye/face mask, if you prefer the dark. Wear comfortable clothes and bring some water. Bring a yoga mat, or camping mattress, if you require additional comfort.
